Just when you think you can sit back and try to enjoy the peacefulness you desperately sought after, the world overwhelms you with its conflicts, hatred and despair of normal life...

--> I Was Happy.. <--

Eating in a cafe with the name of a flower
In a little village not far from where I used to live.
Walking past the park named after a Queen
And where I had picnics and drunken walks.
I was happy...

Listening to the soothing voice filling the Cathedral
An angel singing the Eucharistic prayer.
Soaking up the familiar sights
All at once nostalgic but surreal.
I was happy...

Entering the shop glittering with silver and jewellery
Where I once worked over the Easter holidays.
Passing the building that holds more than a thousand books
With students searching for justice within their pages.
I was happy...

Hearing laughs and busy chattering of students
And I remember I was one of them a few years ago.
Linking arms with my friends from my Uni days
And I feel as if I'm back once more.
I was happy...
